Beginner Yoga
This class introduces basic postures and alignment principles, while giving more experienced students the option to go deeper. We focus on establishing a foundation of healthy alignment by maintaining basic postures for a moderate amount of time, noticing and exploring our breath and mind in each pose. From here, we take these asanas (poses) into a flow that is designed to stretch and strengthen the body, while calming and focusing the mind. Basic meditation and mindfulness techniques are introduced and incorporated into every class.
Gentle Yoga
A gentle, easy paced class. Chairs and props can be used to accommodate personal needs. This class is ideal for older adults, those recovering from illness or injury, and anyone seeking a less physical class that still has the joy of breathing, moving, relaxing and quieting the mind.
Open Level Vinyasa Yoga with Claire Larsen
This well rounded class is designed to challenge all ages and levels. Class begins with a short period of meditation and restorative postures, then moves on to poses that are maintained for a moderate period of time to build strength and endurance, while focusing the mind. Restorative Yoga and Meditation with Lauren Fecarotta
This well rounded class is designed to challenge all ages and levels. Open Level Vinyasa Yoga with Jennifer Phillips
This primarily vinyasa-flow based yoga method enables the practitioner to pass through many of the poses allowing an integration of asana practice into everyday functional movement. Qualities of stability and freedom will be explored, working the muscles efficiently and opening up areas of tightness, and encouraging ease and softness in the joints. Awareness of connecting the breath, body and mind will be encouraged.
Open Level Vinyasa Yoga with Lauren Fecarotta
This open level vinyasa practice moves through a creative sequence of traditional poses linked by breath, integrating awareness, alignment, balance, strength, flexibility and grace. Students will practice a series of challenging and restorative asanas while learning to connect to and move with the rhythm of their own breath, thus creating strength in the body and stillness in the mind.
Slow Flow Vinyasa Yoga with Marissa Nielsen-Pincus
This slow flow Vinyasa class will take you deeper into a supportive yoga practice allowing your body to let go of old holding patterns, opening up new possibilities for strength and balance. You will explore how your muscles, connective tissue, joints, and organs actively support you and help you move. This class is both physically challenging but also restorative, with space for students to move at their own pace. Open to all levels.
Prenatal Yoga with Kate Jetri Pollock
The changing female body is honored and guided through a gentle and fluid practice developing strength and energy, releasing tension and allowing deep relaxation. Classes are a blend of movement, breath, relaxation, meditation and visualization all of which help prepare you for labor and birth. Practicing yoga can alleviate common discomforts felt during pregnancy such as varicosities, swelling, hip pain, cramps, and low back pain. Prenatal yoga brings better sleep and digestion, connection to your developing baby, and a sense of feeling inwardly centered.
Meditation with Claire Larsen
Begin your weekend cultivating peace within. Drawing on basic Buddhist meditation techniques and philosophy, this class provides a supportive environment to calm, focus and restore your mind. Utilizing the breath as our main source of support, we will take time to better understand our mind by observing our thought patterns and learning to come home to the present moment where anything is possible, even in the most difficult of times. You will learn "do anywhere" meditation tools that can support you in your home practice or on a crowded subway car during rush hour. No previous meditation experience is required, all levels are welcome.
Meditation with Claire McCarty
This open level class will help you explore the connection between your breath, your body and your mind. The one hour class includes several seated meditations, gentle breath work and easy movements. The meditation leader provides basic instructions for sitting postures, breathing and specific technique or focus for each seated meditation. The class is suitable for beginners as well as for those with a meditation practice.
Pilates Mat with Loni Markman
This fun and invigorating full body class focues on core strength, postural symmetry, and breath control. Pilates mat workouts are designed to create long, lean muscles while enhancing strength, flexibility, balance and improve joint mobility. All levels are welcome.
Group and Private Pilates Mat: Pilates mat classes offer a full body workout focusing on core strength, postural symmetry, and breath control. Pilates exercises concentrate on the core postural muscles which help keep the body balanced and are essential in supporting the spine. This class will help increase strength, endurance, and coordination as well as improve flexibility and joint mobility.
Hypnobirthing with Yael Quittner
