Baby Steps

This time of year, we all have grand aspirations for New Year’s resolutions. Expensive gym memberships, high tech kitchen equipment, stringent juice cleanses, and lofty philanthropic goals all start with great intentions but often morph into strangling guilt as the year marches on. But that doesn’t mean we can’t take bite-sized steps towards our new-year, new-you desires!!

Keep it small. Remember sustainability is the name of the game, so tackle your objectives with manageable incremental steps. Research shows that specificity makes a huge difference in our ability to stick to a resolution. Regulating your sleep (consistent bed & wake-up time); more movement/exercise spread throughout your day; adding veggies to one more meal daily; designating time away from your smart phone; building in more reading or creativity for a few minutes a day–these are all baby steps that can help you alter your lifestyle to create a healthier, happier you!
