Code for Living: A Healthy Reminder

Reminders are really productive, especially when it comes to interacting with other people and the world around us. More and more there seems to be a general disconnect, rather than being present and conscious of all that surrounds us on a daily basis. I’m very drawn to this Code for Living that came home from PS 29 with my six-year old.

Code for Living

Respect: A positive way of treating or thinking about someone or something.

Empathy: Feeling how another person is feeling and imagining what it would be like to be in another’s position.

Responsibility: Being dependable, keeping promises and honoring our commitments. It is accepting the consequences for what we say and do.

Integrity: Doing the right thing in all circumstances even if no one is watching you. Having integrity means you are true to yourself.

May we live with respect, empathy, a sense of responsibility, and have integrity as we move through life.

The Code of Living is a good reminder for all of us!
