An often overlooked benefit of massage to use it as a way to check in with the body, as a type of diagnostic tool to feel what’s going on. Usually one area screams the loudest and drowns everywhere else out. Frequently, the therapist will discover sore or tight areas that were not necessarily noticed. Once that area is assessed through massage, it’s brought to the therapist’s attention so we can give it what it needs to operate at full potential. It’s a good way to find out what each person requires, to truly care for the whole body. Here’s yet another compelling reason to get massages on a regular basis–in addition to feeling great, it’s a great tool to maintain good physical health.
